Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 15, 2026
Last Updated: July 15, 2026
Street Angels Inc. (“Street Angels,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through streetangelsmke.org (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide directly: name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and message content when you fill out a contact, volunteer, or newsletter sign-up form, or when you donate.
- Donation information: when you donate online, our third-party payment processor [insert processor name] collects payment details (such as card number) directly; Street Angels typically receives your name, contact information, and donation amount/history, but not your full payment card number.
- Automatically collected information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs, collected through standard web server logs and analytics/tag-management tools (such as Google Tag Manager and any connected analytics services).
- Cookies and similar technologies: small data files stored on your device to support Site functionality and analytics. See Section 5 below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and acknowledge donations, and issue tax receipts;
- Respond to inquiries and coordinate volunteer participation;
- Send newsletters, appeals, or program updates to those who opt in;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
- Understand how visitors use the Site through aggregate analytics;
- Comply with legal, accounting, and reporting obligations applicable to nonprofit organizations.
We do not use information submitted through the Site to make decisions about the direct outreach or shelter services we provide in the field; those services are governed by separate program intake and confidentiality practices, not by this Site.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and process donations (e.g., our website host, email/newsletter platform, and payment/donation processor such as Network for Good), who are authorized to use your information only to provide services to us;
- Professional advisors, such as our accountant or legal counsel, as needed;
- Government agencies or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Street Angels, our community, or others;
- A successor organization in the event of a merger, reorganization, or similar transition, consistent with applicable nonprofit law.
4. Individuals Served by Our Programs
The Site may reference or display stories, photos, or general information about individuals experiencing homelessness who are served by our programs. We only publish such content with the individual’s informed consent, obtained through our program’s separate consent process, and we do not publish sensitive program or case information (such as health information, exact encampment locations, or other identifying details that could compromise a person’s safety or dignity) without appropriate authorization.
5. Cookies and Analytics
The Site may use cookies, tags, and similar technologies (for example, Google Tag Manager and connected analytics tools) to understand Site usage and improve our content. You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them; doing so may affect certain Site functionality.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information collected through the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including donor stewardship and recordkeeping, or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified in accordance with our internal retention practices.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
- Opt out of email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly;
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements, by emailing info@streetangelsmke.org;
- Decline to provide certain information, though this may limit your ability to donate, volunteer, or receive communications from us.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party platforms, including social media, our Amazon wishlist, Linktree, YouTube, and our donation-processing partner. Those third parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them; this Policy does not apply to third-party sites.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” above reflects the most recent revision.
